DISADVANTAGES of HD to RF Modulator

  • HDMI modulators are more expensive than a standard definition modulators
  • RF loop in on this model does not work i.e. it is not possible to feed in Saorview signal and have it combined in with the 9V RF out
  • Is not compatible with 720p TVs and must be used with televisions that are 1080p or higher

Note: No RF loop on current version (Does not work on new model)

I have two of these running together. One for the Freesat and it was so good I got one to replace the analogue output on my Sky box. The picture quality is as good as the HDMI input. The only way you can tell is the tiny delay on the remote commands. Highly recommend.

Really happy with my purchase having had it for a couple of months now. Using the RF output to send my Sky Q signal to a couple of additional rooms - quality much better than it was from the RF output on my old Sky HD box. Setup was pretty straighforward, though it took a little while to figure out that the initial awful sound interference on the digital output could be fixed by setting the sound output on the Sky Q box to Normal instead of Dolby

If you have the new SkyQ box and still want to use your Magic Eye devices to change channels remotely? Then this is part of the solution. This RF modulator takes the HDMI output from your SkyQ box and converts it to an RF signal for use by your Magic Eyes and loft box. The HD picture it produces on the remote TVs is stunning and is a huge improvement from the old eye. Great company to deal with and very reasonable price compared to what's out there.

Good product, but be aware, the RF side will only work with a TV that supports 1080p and has a Saorview type (digital) tuner. Quality over RF and Coax is very good indeed. Setup is easy.
