How to install an Edision Optimuss Teres HD

  • Unpack the box
    • Edision Optimuss Teres HD receiver
    • Remote control & Batteries
  • Push the lead from the UHF aerial into the 'RF IN' plug
  • Connect using either:
    • A scart lead from the box to the TV
    • A HDMI lead if you have one and a HD TV
  • Plug in the power lead
  • After a short time the box will come on and will display the "Installation Guide" menu
  • Note: You may need to switch the AV channel on TV if using HDMI

How to Tune in the Saorview Channels

  • When the box is connected for the first time it will automatically boot up on the Installation menu
  • Language by default is set to English
  • The country can be left as: 'Germany'
  • Arrow down to Channel Search
  • Press 'OK'-> Kicks off an automatic search
  • This take about 3-4 minutes

How to Sort & Delete Channels

  • Press the menu button
  • When you have finished sorting the channels
  • Select the Program Menu
  • Select the Program Edit option 
    • Enter password '000000' (Six Zeros)
  • Select colour coded keys on the remote that match the required function
    • Red button to move a channel
    • Blue button to delete a channel
  • Press Exit button to save changes

How to use the EPG & Info Buttons

This DTT receiver comes with a full 7 Day EPG which works pretty well

  • Press the EPG button on the remote control
  • It lists the EPG one channel at a time
  • Your can scroll through channels or scroll up to 7 days forward (using arrow keys)
  • Scroll over the the desired program
  • Information displayed includes:
    • Name of TV programme
    • Start and finish time
    • Programme synopsis

Info Button

  • Press the Info button once
    • Get the programme name and runing time
  • Press the Info button twice
    • Get the programme synopsis
  • Works for Now and Next programmes

How to Turn ON/Off Subtitles

To turn on the subtitles

  • Press Button marked Subtitles
  • Select English Option
  • Press OK
  • If you change channels the subtitles will default back to off
  • Note: it is possible from the main menu to change the default so that if the subtitles are turned on or off permanently

How to Set the Time

  • This video shows how you can easily adjust the time settings
  • You may need to do this when Winter/Summer time changes

How to Format a USB Drive

  • Connect the USB drive to the Digital Terrestrial TV Receiver
  • Press the Menu button
  • Select the USB Menu
  • Select the PVR configure option
  • Select the 'Format' option
    • Please Wait
    • Can select Fat32 or NTFS (We usually recommend FAT32)
  • Press 'OK'
    • Confirm you wish to Proceed
  • Press 'OK' and it takes about 30 seconds to a minute
  • The USB drive is now formatted

How to Upgrade Firmware

  • The video above shows how you can perform a firmwere upgrade on the box
  • This may be needed from time to time to fix bugs or perhaps add additional functionality

How to Perform a Factory Reset

  • The video above shows how you can perform a factory reset on the box
  • This would normally be done if something gets screwed up in the settings on the box
  • it is also a good idea to perform a factory reset after doing a firmware upgrade
