USES of DVB-T2 Receiver

  • This box can be used for both Freeview HD and the Irish Saorview channels
  • Channels include:
    • Currently: RTE 1 HD, RTE2 HD, Virgin Media One, TG4, RTE News Channel, RTEjr, Virgin Media Two, Virgin Media Three
    • Also currently includes 10 Digital Radio stations from RTE
    • If receiving Freeview HD, all the free UK channels are available
    • ie.. BBCs, ITVs, C4, E4, More 4, Film 4, Channel 5s etc..
  • It also contains a Media Player (films, music & pics)
  • Can be used in conjunction with either High Def or Standard Definition TVs
    • HDMI Port for HD TVs,SCART for standard definition TVs


  • It is MPEG4 & HD i.e. it can handle high definition transmissions
  • It is DVB-T2, works with UK Freeview HD
  • It future proofs your investment in case at some point in the future Saorview uses T2 technology

  • It does not have MHEG5 middleware (which means no digital Teletext)

Saorview Frequencies

The table above shows the channel range & polarity of each of the transmitters in Ireland. The final column shows the UHF group colour code for the most appropriate aerial for the transmitter. Of course it is possible to use a wide band UHF aerial (either the standard white tipped, higher gain, high gain grid or 32 element) which will work on all transmitters
