USES of Scart to VGA Converter
- Typical use would be for connecting the following equipment
- Satellite Receivers
- DVD Players
- VCRs
- Televisions & Computer Monitors
- Digital Receivers
- Gaming Consoles
- Ideal where you are looking to connect up older AV equipment with scart outputs to a newer TV or monitor with VGA inputs
ADVANTAGES of Scart to VGA Converter
- Used to connect older devices which only have scart connections to a TV or monitor using one of it's VGA inputs
- Could be used if you have no scart connections on your newer TV either
DISADVANTAGES of Scart to VGA Converter
- Scart to VGA only gives a passive connection, so turning on a DVD player, for example, will not automatically switch the television to the corresponding AV input
- You need to manually change the source or AV input on the TV to the correct VGA / PC input
- In most cases, the power from the USB port of your TV or AV equipment should be enough to power the device
- Sometimes though, an external power source will be required and we offer this as an optional purchase
- If you are not sure, we recommend buying the power supply along with the scart to VGA converter
- As the saying goes, you're better looking at it then looking for it
- This would be needed in the case that your TV doesn't have free USB ports for example
- This Scart to VGA converter cannot work in reverse ie.. VGA to Scart
- Obviously you will not get a full HD quality picture from the VGA output
- The adapter only converts & upscales it
- You cannot magically turn it into a 1080p full HD quality picture
- Never buy scart to VGA cables. A powered unit like this will always work better
