- Hotels
- Apartment blocks
- Retirement villages
- Hospitals
HOW the Quatro LNB Works
Quatro Vs Traditional LNB
- Traditional LNBs which simply feed a satellite receiver from each output
- Quatro LNBs split the satellite signal into Vertical (High & Low) and Horizontal (High & Low)
How a Quatro LNB and Multiswitch Work
- The 4 outputs from the Quatro LNB (Vertical (High & Low) and Horizontal (High & Low)) feed into the the corresponding inputs on the Multiswitch
- Note: Terrestrial TV signal can also be fed into the Multiswitch
- Multiswitch units can have 4, 6, 8, 12 or 16 different outputs to satellite receivers
If a Cascade Multiswitch is Being Used
- The Vertical (High & Low) and Horizontal (High & Low) can be used to feed additional Multiwitches
- Max number of units -> near infinity
ADVANTAGES of Quatro LNB
- A single satellite dish can feed an entire apartment block or hotel
- Possible to add on additional TV points by simply adding on an additional cascade multiswitch
- Can be very cost efficient on large commercial jobs
DISADVANTAGES of Quatro LNB
- Not suitable for small scale operations e.g. for any job with less than 8 satellite receivers
- Alignment and setup is very complicated and frustrating - definitely not for the DIYer
- Need to plan properly and use high quality cable CT100 or CT165 if it is to work correctly through a large scheme
FINAL NOTE
- MUST ONLY BE USED WITH A MULTISWITCH
- When used in conjunction with a MK3 to MK4 LNB Adapter it is possible to use this LNB on a Sky satellite dish
