USES of 4 Way TV Amplifier
- Used to take a signal directly from a UHF and/or a VHF aerial and distribute to up to 4 televisions
- Can take a signal from a Sky box (via UHF input) and distribute to up to 4 televisions
- Can be used as a booster to amplify existing signal (could use 1 or 2 way amplifier to do this)
ADVANTAGES of 4 Way TV Amplifier
- Compact and reliable amplifier with a 11dB gain
- Coax distribution amplifiers are on average 20% less expensive than F-type amplifiers
- Can feed up to 4 rooms
- Easy to install and connect up
- Auto line power allowing it to power a UHF masthead amplifier
- No need to use a UHF / VHF diplixer which saves on both money and reduces signal loss
DISADVANTAGES of 4 Way TV Amplifier
- As it has 2 inputs, it can not be used when a VHF and UHF have already been combined into a signal feed
- If there a good strong input signal, a splitter can be used effectively to distribute signal to several rooms at a much lower cost
There are 2 basic types of TV distribution amplifiers
1. Distribution Amplifiers Without Bypass
- Inputs: 1 or 2
- Connector: Coaxial
- Purpose: Allows the input signal to be..
- Split to a number of outlets (2, 4, 6, 8 outputs are the most common)
- Boosted rather than weakening the TV signal
Distribution Amplifier With Bypass (Return Path)
2A. Distribution Amplifiers with Bypass (1 Input)
- Inputs: 1
- Connector: F Type
- Purpose: Allows the input signal to be..
- Split to a number of outlets (2, 4, 6, 8 outputs are the most common)
- Boosted rather than weakening the TV signal
2B. Distribution Amplifiers With Bypass (2 Input)
- Inputs: 2
- Connector: F Type
- Purpose: Allows the input signal to be..
- Split to a number of outlets (2, 4, 6, 8 outputs are the most common)
- Boosted rather than weakening the TV signal
