USES of IR Illuminator
- Use the CCTV IR illuminator to 'throw an bit of light on the subject' at night
- Ideal where you need additional infrared night vision for your CCTV camera setup
Practical Examples of IR Illuminator Uses
- Use in a calving shed where the existing camera's IR leaves some blind spots
- You could just split off your existing 12Vdc feed and add this IR illuminator to the setup
- This would save the possibility of having to run extra mains around the shed and leave lights on all the time, thus saving you time & money
- Use at the front or back of a house or business where the existing light conditions are not ideal
- Sometimes when installing CCTV cameras outside, PIR floodlights are also recommended to be installed at the same time
- These additional PIR floodlights are used to light up the area so that the CCTV cameras can get a better picture
- By using the IR illuminator, you should not need as many PIR floodlights (for this reason) if any at all, thus saving you time and money
- The uses of the IR illuminator are limited but the two scenarios above are extremely common situations where this piece of kit comes into it's own
