USES of Coaxial Coupler
- Used to join 2 RG6 satellite cables together which have been terminated with coaxial plugs
- Join or extend a TV aerial cable
- Converting a male to male coaxial lead into a male to female lead
- Acts as an adapter on a video or satellite box to convert a coaxial male output into a a coaxial female output
ADVANTAGES of Coaxial Coupler
- Easy to use. Coaxial plugs are simply pushed into the coaxial coupler
- They are less expensive than than f-type joiners
- Wide range of uses e.g. Videos, DVDs etc.. coaxial rather F-type connectors are the norm
- Coaxial type distribution boxes are normally 20% less expensive than F-type distribution systems
DISADVANTAGES of Coaxial Coupler
- Coax joiners give a relatively low quality join that can not reliably support sky eyes or satellite dish feeds
- Rarely or ever used in commercial jobs
