Advantages of CAT6 Cables

The main advantages are that

  • They are low cost
  • Their long length cover a very large CAT6 run

  • Unterminated means it's easier to pull through walls and ducting
  • Can be cut to desired length
  • In pure material terms, unterminated CAT6 cable is cheaper then buying pre-terminated cables

Disadvantages CAT6 Cables

The main disadvantages are that

  • May be too long for some jobs, might need to cut
  • CAT6 cables are slighlty more expensive than CAT5 cables
