IMPORTANT ADVICE

  • This version of multiswitch can work with quads as well as quatro LNBs
  • Best results on terrestrial are achieved when using a grouped (e.g. Group B) rather than wide band UHF aerials
  • On terrestrial, it may be necessary to use a launch amplifier to boost signal (This is true for 16 & 32 output units)

USES of 5x9 Satellite & Terrestrial MultiSwitch

  • Used in conjunction with a Quatro or quad LNB and a 80cm dish to distribute the satellite and sometimes Terrestrial TV signal to a number a number of TV points
  • Capable of giving good results on both Satellite and Terrestrial output.

Used extensively in

  • Hotels
  • Apartment blocks
  • Retirement villages

How 4 Input LNBs & Multiswitch Work

  • Used in conjunction with a quad or quattro LNB (normally mounted on an 80cm dish) who's 4 outputs are broken into
    • Vertical (High & Low)
    • Horizontal (High & Low)
  • Multiswitch Inputs
    • Satellite: 4 from satellite - from either a quad or Quatro LNB
    • Terrestrial: Single feed covering full VHF / UHF spectrum
  • Multiswitch Outputs
    • Outputs: 9 outputs to satellite receivers
  • At the TV Point
    • Use a faceplate to split the signal into satellite and terrestrial

ADVANTAGES of 5x9 Satellite & Terrestrial MultiSwitch

  • This unit with a single 80cm satellite dish can feed a small apartment block
  • Works well with both satellite & terrestrial signals
  • Can be very cost efficient on small sized commercial jobs
  • This multiswitch is part of Whyte's top of the range multiswitches
  • Features Trunk EQ
  • Inbuilt LTE filter
  • LED power indicator
  • Colour coded inputs and outputs
  • Tap outputs on top of unit for easy access
  • Auxiliary 18V Input injects power to SAT lines
  • This industry first enables longer cascades to be created for Quattro or Wideband IRS distribution systems

DISADVANTAGES of 5x9 Satellite & Terrestrial MultiSwitch

  • A Sky dish with an Octo LNB is more practical for small jobs requiring less than 8 satellite feeds and no terrestrial signal
  • Alignment and setup can be very complicated and frustrating - possibly not for the DIYer
  • Need to plan properly and use high quality cable CT100 or CT165 if it is to work correctly through a large scheme
  • Maximum limit of this unit is 9 outputs or 4 Sky+HD receivers, which often is not sufficient
  • Will not support Sky Q, we have alternative product for this
