ADVANTAGES of 13" Chimney Bracket & Lashing Kit
- Easier to install than a 9 inch chimney bracket
- Can clear the reveal on the vast majority of chimneys
- A relatively cheap way of mounting a pole / mast on a house
- Gives best achievable results as normally mounted on highest point on a house i.e. the chimney
- Flexible - unlike a TK bracket mounted on a gable wall it has full 360 degree freedom to pick up from any transmitter.
- More robust and stronger than a 9 inch chimney bracket - hassle free and safe once correclty installed
- Unlike TK brackets it does not require a drill
DISADVANTAGES of 13 inch Chimney Bracket
- Limited offset means that it struggles to pass reveal on some chimneys (use TK brackets in such cases)
- More expensive to install than a 9 inch chimney bracket
- Requires special tools i.e. roof ladder etc to mount bracket on a chimney
- Roof work is by its nature far more dangerous than working off standard ladder
- Not sufficiently robust to mount a satellite dish (though some installers do)
- More expensive than a satellite dish bracket
- Not suitable for very heavy loads or long poles - which might require:
- Double lashings kits
- T&K brackets
