ADVANTAGES of HDMI to RCA Converter
- Used to connect modern AV equipment which only have HDMI connections to a TV using one of it's RCA inputs
DISADVANTAGES of HDMI to RCA Converter
- HDMI to RCA only gives a passive connection, so turning on a DVD player, for example, will not automatically switch the television to the corresponding AV input
- You need to manually change the source or AV input on the TV to the correct RCA (AV) input
- In most cases, the power from the USB port of your TV or AV equipment should be enough to power the device
- Sometimes though, an external power source will be required and we offer this as an optional purchase
- If you are not sure, we recommend buying the power supply along with the HDMI to RCA converter
- As the saying goes, you're better looking at it then looking for it
- This would be needed in the case that your TV doesn't have USB ports for example
- This HDMI to RCA converter cannot work in reverse ie.. RCA to HDMI
- Obviously you will not get a full HD quality picture from the RCA output
- The adapter only converts & downscales it
- You cannot magically turn it into a 1080p full HD quality picture
- Never buy HDMI to RCA cables. A powered version like this will always work better
