The default master password for the DVR is all 0s (Zeros). In the event that you change this password but then cannot remember it, the override master password for the DVR is 101101

How to Find your IP Address on a Local Area Network

  • Note: Done on Windows XP
  • Click on start button
  • Click on run
  • Type 'cmd' into the run window and press OK
  • The command prompt window should open up
  • Type 'ipconfig' in this window and press enter
  • Take note of the ip address
  • To shut the window, type exit and press enter
  • To open command prompt window on windows vista or windows 7, google how to do it

How to Configure the IP Address on your DVR

  • Bring up the menu system
  • Go to advanced
  • Go to network
  • TCP/IP TYPE: STATIC
  • MEDIA PORT is 9000
  • WEB PORT is 80
  • Use what you have learned from the previous video on determining your IP address on a LAN to create an IP address for the DVR
  • Click apply. Follow the instructions and then the DVR will reboot.

How to Configure the DVR for Remote Access

  • Bring up the menu system
  • Go to advanced
  • Got to Mobile menu
  • Set and take note of all of the following;
    • Username: (whatever you like)
    • Password: (don't make it too simple)
    • Server Port: 15961
  • Click on apply & follow the instructions

How to Configure your Router for Port Forwarding

Note: This is only shown using a grey type eircom router. This tutorial is predicated on the fact that you have already obtained a static IP address from your broadband provider. These can be obtained easily and are relatively inexpensive and in some cases actually free. To see how to implement port forwarding on your particular make and model of router, you need to go to a website called portforward.com

You will also need to find out what the default IP address, user logon and password for your particular make and model is. This will be in the documentation that is provided with your router. Your broadband provider may also provided you with if you contact them. Again, the website portforward.com is a goldmine of information in this regard.

On the grey type eircom router

  • Type 192.168.1.254 into your URL bar
  • Click on Expert mode
  • Go to Configure
  • Click on Advanced
  • Click on NAT (may be called Port Forwarding on some routers)
  • Click on Define custom service
  • Leave Port Forwarding ticked and click on next
  • Enter the following;
    • Service name: (can be whatever you like)
    • Global port range: 9000 - 9000
    • Base host port: 80 (use 81 if it is already taken)
    • Protocol: TCP
  • Click on next
  • Click done
  • Select the service name you created from the dropdown list and then click on enable
  • Leave the next settings as default and then click on enable button
  • Port forwarding is now set up

How to Download & Install KMEye from the App Store

  • You'll need an Apple App Store account for this.
  • KMEye is a free app so there is no additional costs involved.
  • Just search for the KMEye app, download and install it.

How to Configure KMEye on your SmartPhone

  • Once you have the KMEye app installed on your smart phone just open the app
  • Touch the settings icon
  • Touch the + icon to add a device
  • Enter the following information
    • Name: (what ever you like)
    • Address: This is the Static IP address that your broadband provider gave you
    • Port: 15961
    • User id: (Whatever you set it as in the mobile menu on the DVR)
    • Password: (Whatever you set it as in the mobile menu on the DVR)
    • Scroll screen down to set Max Channels (4 - 32)
  • Touch save to complete setup
  • You can now view your DVR remotely using a smart phone

How to Install Net DVR on your PC or Laptop

Simply remove the CD from the packaging that comes with the DVR and follow the instructions provided in the video above. It's a very quick and simple process.

How to Configure Net DVR for Remote Access

Once you have the Net DVR program installed on you PC or Laptop simply;

Open the program on your PC by clicking on it

It will ask you for some information including;

  • IP Address: (see below for more info)
  • *Media Port: 9000
  • Password: (Whatever you set it as in the mobile menu on the DVR)
  • *Network: Internet or LAN option (see below for more on this)
  • Language: English

Note: It will ask you for your IP address. But this will depend on how you want to access the DVR.

  • *If you select LAN as the network option, you MUST use the static IP address you gave the DVR in an earlier stage of the process. This will allow you to view the DVR within your own network.
  • *If you select Internet as the network option, then you MUST use the static IP that your boradband provide gave you

All other settings remain the same. Once you have all this info entered, Just click login to view your DVR.
