How Can I Switch From UPC To A Free To Air Digital Satellite TV System

Steve Asked:

I am currently with UPC. I have their digital service with UPC record box in the front room, a non-digital upstairs and out in the studio. The UPC package included two separate landline phones, broadband and digital and costs approximately €1400 per annum. I am now considering switching to satellite. Could you advise me on what I need. I presume it would be Satellite, Quad LNB and and Combo Receiver. How much would this package cost, will I also receive all Irish channels with it and finally, How can I solve my bedroom TV outlet and studio outlet at end of garden?

Our Answer

Steve,

for the satellite part (BBC HD, ITVs, Channel 4) you will need a satellite feed from a quad lnb for each box

You will need need a TV aerial and a splitter to be able to run the Irish Digital (Saorview) channels to both rooms

What you need to do is go to:

  • Combo receiver
    • look at videos in the 'User Manual' tab
    • pick out products from 'Associated Products' that you need to complete the kit

If you want to add recording features to the kit, you will need to buy one of the external hard drives from our range
